Beach houses, gates and salt air
The Hammock is the strip between the ocean and the Intracoastal, with A1A running down the middle. Hammock Dunes, the Hammock Beach Resort and the Ocean Hammock golf course are here, along with plenty of older beach houses tucked back in the oaks.
Salt air is hard on locks. Cylinders get gritty, keys stick and lever handles on the ocean side start to feel rough after a few years. A lot of what we do out here is cleaning, lubricating and replacing hardware that the salt got to.
And since so many homes are second homes, keypads and smart locks are popular. Owners want to let in cleaners and contractors without mailing keys around.

Hammock Dunes, the Hammock Beach Resort, Ocean Hammock and the smaller streets that run between A1A and the river. Plenty of these homes are behind a gate so the gate code or a heads-up to the guard saves time.
Parks and parking
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park and Bings Landing on the river both draw a lot of visitors. If you lock your keys in the car at either one, tell us which lot. We’re only a few minutes away.

Several Hammock neighborhoods are gated. We’re happy to work with the gate, just let them know we’re coming or give us the code when you call (386) 853-3587.

Locks with solid brass or stainless parts and a good finish. We can recommend specific models when we see the door.

Usually quickly, since the shop is on the same stretch of A1A. We’ll give you a time when you call.

Second homes need a plan for keys
When a house sits empty for months, keys tend to multiply. The cleaner has one, the pool service has one, a neighbor has one, and one is under a rock somewhere.
The simple fix is a rekey and a keypad. Rekey the deadbolts so only the keys you hand out work and put a keypad on the door you use most, so service people get a code instead of a key. When the season ends, delete the codes.
